Recently I attended a bookbinding workshop by Hilary Judd, artist and lecturer. To start we were shown the basics of folding paper in different ways to create fast and esay books.
Then we made our own notebooks from old envelopes. Envelopes from bank statements or phone bills are cut along 3 edges and folded over, so the inside print is out. Placed into an order we liked, we stitched through with bookbiding thread and then the notebooks were guillotined for neat edges.
Lastly we made small concertina books covered in book cloth.
