For the second cut-out map I produced, I repeated the Dinant map three times so it created a seemingly different, and more complex map.

Exploring Shadows.
Once I had finished the cut-out of Dinant, I thought some interesting results could be found through experimenting with light and shadows. So in a dark room and using a small candle I photographed the map I made.

First Cut-out Map.
For the first paper cut-out map I did, I used the small street map from the Dinant booklet. I like how the few buildings there are curve along the river.

More Old Maps.
I also found an old pocket street map for the Belgian city of Bruges. This has a more thorough street map which I have found useful to work from.

Old Maps.
Instead if using Google Maps like I did for the Site Project, I looked for some old street maps in second-hand bookshops. I found pocket street maps for tourists visiting European towns and cities. I found a small booklet for the Belgian town of Dinant which has a basic map with illustrations on the back cover.
